Frequently asked questions

Current questions

According to AD2000 data sheet A2 section 10.2, the narrowest flow diameter upstream of the valve seat has to be 6 mm. For sizes DN6 and DN8 the flow diameter of the safety valve SV15 is less than 6 mm. In this case, a shortened maintenance interval must be provided for these sizes and a gas & gas mixture in accordance with ISO8573-1:2010 (4:1:1) must be maintained.

According to AD2000 data sheet A2 section 12.4, the narrowest flow diameter for safety valves can be at least 4 mm when using clean gases if overdimensioning with a flow diameter >=6 mm leads to impairment of the function. In addition, interfering impurities should be safely excluded and the function of the safety valves must not be impaired (e.g. by packaging, icing or blockages).

The valves are designed for the medium in a saturated state. Wet steam results in a significantly increased wear rate of the valve. That's the reason why the medium wet steam is not recommended. Condensate should be drained via condensate separator upstream of the valve. A phase transition in the valve should always be avoided.

The bore (hole) in the body is always present but the internal insert is decisive for the "without secondary venting" or "with secondary venting" version. For the closed version an additional piece of plastic is inserted to prevent dirt from entering the valve.

Top 3 Questions

The membrane-operated pressure reducing valve is frequently used in applications with low to normal back pressure. Due to the membrane, it also delivers more sensitive regulation.

The piston-operated pressure reducing valve is frequently used with high back pressures and aggressive media. It has an extremely robust design, giving it a high level of safety in case of pressure surges.

The version "conical sealing" is self-sealing but can only be tightened once for the seal to fulfill its purpose. For the version of "flat sealing" the screw connection must be opened and an additional flat gasket inserted.

Yes, we always design coaxial valves to meet customer-specific requirements. Thus, higher temperature ranges and higher pressure ranges are quite possible. From time to time, a third-party controlled compressed air valve must be used.
