Within a pipeline system under pressure, different volume flow rates are a common problem. They can harm or even destroy the system. Mostly, the cause lies in the late or non-existing control over the media, for example a pump, which causes the pressure. As a result, the pump continues to build up pressure even when the pressure is already too high. This results in damage to the pump, or even in an explosion that destroys the entire system and might harm people and can cause tremendous amount of loss. In order to protect a system or container, overflow valves (also called bypass valves or control valves) can be used. Once the pressure is too high, the valve activates a bypass, which reduces the pressure within the system. The media now flows through the open overflow valve, and the bypass leads it back into the flow of the pump, thereby creating a separate loop. The media continues to flow through the bypass valve, until the pressure within the system is reduced and causes the overflow valve to close again.

It is possible to adjust the valve while the system is running without any leakage. We provide overflow valves in the following nominal sizes: 3/8“, ½“, 3/4“, 1“, 1 ¼“, 1 ½“, und 2“. They come with thread connections or flange connections in the nominal sizes DN15, DN20, DN25, DN32, DN40, DN50, DN65 or DN80. Depending on the media, the overflow valves come with EPDM, FKM / Viton or PTFE seals in order to assure a maximum of tightness. Their pressure range varies from 0,2 – 70,0 bar.
