Opening pressure of a safety valve?
The opening pressure is also called the blow-off pressure and is the point at which the safety valve reaches the maximum lift for the required mass flow to be discharged. This is normally a maximum of 10% above the set pressure for normal lift safety valves and 5% above the set pressure for full lift safety valves.
